What is STEM?

STEM is science, technology, engineering and maths. It is about making discoveries, transforming and innovating how we live our lives. It should be embedded into everyday practice! At Wind in the Willows, we ensure that STEM is embedded into our everyday practice through activities and resources such as playdough, role play, science experiments, wooden loose parts, water play and gloop.

Why STEM?

Stem increases children's capacity to problem solve and answer questions, build resilience, determination and self confidence, work independently and be self-motivated, communicate effectively and think deeply, and gives things a go! At Wind in the Willows, we encourage independence, provocation to learning and problem-solving!

The 5 Cs

The 5Cs are curiosity, collaboration, critical thinking, confidence and communication. At Wind in the Willows, we follow the curiosity approach and promote collaboration, critical thinking, curiosity and encourage children to be themselves.
